2003
The start of heavy lord. Jeff and Wes Lee started riffing and smoking in an old bunker and after some months they were joined by Steve on bass and vocals. After trying some drummers Wout joins and they played their first gig.

Afther the first gig many gigs followed and after writing enough songs they went into the Yellow tape studio in Belgium to record their first album "The holy grail". The recording session was one big alcoholocaust and the result was raw and under the influence of the mighty herb and bands such as Black Sabbath and 90s DOOM and stoner bands.

Really busy year for Heavy Lord. They played a lot of gigs and in one weekend played one gig and recorded their second album "From cosmos to chaos" in studio "Het pand" in vlaardingen. Released by themselves in 2005. After Belgium they also made there debut in Germany at the low frequency fest and play as support of 2 of there heroes Crowbar and High on fire with Mat Pike (former guitarist of Sleep) on guitar. At the end of 2005 Heavy Lord does their first tour with Belgium DOOM band Mose.

Their second album "From cosmos to chaos" is released by Solitude Productions, a Russian label specialised in releasing Sludge/Doombands. With this extra support more gigs followed and to explore their boundaries and to play for a more different type of audience (girls), they hooked up with 2 rock n roll bands called Noctopyle and Left in the middle to play in Holland on the sludge and sleazy tour. After the tour Heavy Lord supports wellknown metalband Gojira (France) in 013. To get more gigs they joined in a metal battle competition to show all the poser metal bands that Black Sabbath is the only real metal band!! It leads to the finals in Atak in Enschede what turned out in one big party with too much alcohol violence and a 1 meter joint and a well deserved 2nd place. They also had the honour to play at the DOOM shall rise festival in Germany, the biggest DOOM festival in Europe, selling the most merchandise of all the bands including headliner Debris Inc. (feat. Dave Chandler of the legendary Saint Vitus).

In the beginning of 2007 Heavy Lord had the honour to support Officium Triste (the Godfathers of the Dutch DOOM scene). In 2007 Heavy Lord exploded more and more to the south and tours Belgium and France for the first time. After they return they supported Nebula in Rotterdam and played a couple of shows in Germany and France again. At the end of 2007 their third album ("Chained to the world") saw the light of day. Recorded in the Void studio where al the great old Dutch stoner bands like 7zuma7, Celestial season and 35007 recorded their albums. The release party was in the Sounds Metal basement in Rotterdam, the lowest and the loudest instore ever!!!

In 2008 another long awaited dream came true for Heavy Lord by releasing "Chained to the world" on vinyl. To support the album Heavy Lord played with a lot of bands like Amen ra and Weedeater. Played on the occult fest freedom noise fest. exvodoom fest, Langweiligkeit fest and a lot more festivals. In the spring The holy grail was rereleased with one more bonus track (a very old song recorded in the same studio on the same beat-up gear) officialy by Solitude Productions. At the end of 2008 Heavy Lord teamed up with their friends of Toner Low to tour Germany and Austria succesfully.

In 2009 Heavy Lord took their first flight to headline the burn out festival in Milano, Italy. Really happy their guitars didn't broke because of the cheap ryan air tickets. In the spring/summer Heavy Lord teamed up again with their Belgium bros of Mose again and toured France and Belgium. After somewhat of a little break Steve officially opened his own studio and
Heavy lord immediately used it for making demos for their upcoming new album hopefully to be released in the summer of 2010.
